Residency Opportunities


We accept applications from artists looking for month-long residencies. There is a private residency space and artist accommodation available, with a shared kitchen and bathroom. The residency and accommodation space sit within our three story building shared alongside a small group of artist studio holders.
We request that all artists using the space have at least one public event (usually towards the end of their stay). This can be in any form and can include a talk, screening, exhibition, event or workshop.

The fee for a one-month residency with accommodation is £400, with an additional laundry fee of £25 for clean bed linen and towels.
This includes a private bedroom with a double bed, desk and storage, a studio space with a desk, shared toilets and bathroom with a shower, a shared kitchen and communal space.

The fee for a one month residency without accommodation is £200
This includes a studio space with a desk, shared toilets and bathroom with a shower, a shared kitchen and communal space.


The minimum residency period is one month. The maximum residency period is two months. 

We regret that because of the layout of our building with multiple staircases and levels there is very poor access for people with mobility issues.

  • The subject on your email should say residency application and include your full name.


Please attach the following:

  • Proposal and reason for wanting to have a residency at CMR (max 500 words)
  • Artists statement (max 300 words)
  • Bio (max 300 words)
  • CV (max 2 pages)
  • Documentation of recent works (up to ten images in a pdf of previous works with title, material and year). Each image should have your name and title.
  • Public liability insurance
